Our current patterns of giving will not provide enough income to allow us to occupy the building in a reasonable time frame.
The campaign fundraising goal is $650,000. It will cost about $1.2 million to finish the project. Bank financing will cover the gap, at terms that are affordable within the church operating budget.
Please pray. “The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working” (James 5:16). Please serve. Remember, we are building a people, not just a building.
Please give. Ask God how you (and your family) can give above and beyond your regular giving. Give weekly, monthly, yearly. Give your time, your gifts, your mites, your gold. Give so others can see that your treasure is in heaven. Give in secret, and your reward will be great (Matthew 6:4).
Your commitment to the “Finishing the Task” building campaign should be an amount God leads you to give over and above your regular offering. As you understand, we must maintain our regular giving so that the normal day-to-day operations of the church won't be undermined. You can still write one check for your giving. Simply indicate in the memo section how you would like your offering designated (split) each time.
Pray daily and allow God to open your heart and direct you about your commitment. Through prayer and personal assessment, you will know what to give. We also have resources (see the inside of campaign packet) to help you see creative ways you can contribute.
Included is a commitment card and you will be asked to fill out the card with the amount you intend to give over the next three years. You may give weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly, or in a lump sum.
Your pledge card isn’t a binding contract; it’s a good-faith experience of your giving plans based on your current financial situation. None of us knows for sure what lies ahead. We may be blessed with unanticipated resources and be able to increase our giving. Or, we may face unforeseen circumstances that would force us to lower our level of giving. We trust that every person who turns in a pledge card sincerely intends to follow through with it, but as people of grace, we realize that every pledge is subject to change if necessary. Please let us know if you need to alter your pledge.
Our construction will continue based upon the giving we receive. We will adjust our construction timetable accordingly as it will delay completion of the construction project.
Simply designate in the memo of your check “building project.”
